Page Background

In this edition we have a special

focus on money management,

capturing all the recent changes

announced in the Autumn

Budget and some reminders on

how we can help with free

financial advice.

You will also find information on

our continued work to tackle

homelessness, and also how

we have listened to your

feedback on our repairs service

and so recruited new female

apprentices.

And special congratulations to

our dedicated Scrutiny Panel

members who have been

awarded an accreditation by

social housing’s leading tenant

body. The panel has worked

hard this year looking into how

we reassure you about fire

safety measures – on that note,

you will find in this edition a

reminder of the steps we have

taken to check all our properties

and some festive fire safety

advice.

May I take this opportunity to

wish you a very Merry Christmas

and a Happy New Year. I look

forward to seeing you in 2018!

Sheltered

housing visits

“We are here

when you want

us to be…”

We offer a flexible sheltered

housing service that respects

the fact that many older

residents are independent in

their sheltered scheme homes.

This means some of you may

have opted out of daily, weekly

or morning calls. However,

you can choose to request

these to be put back in place

whenever you want.

“We know some residents

choose not to have a daily visit,

as they want to be out and

about. But if the situation

changes, perhaps if you are

having a period of ill health or

a key family member has

gone on holiday, you can opt

back in at any time with a small

notice period.”

Maria Ward

Sheltered Housing Manager

Residents with a Lifeline or

warden call system are reminded

to test it monthly, simply by

pressing the pendant or alarm

button. Please also let us know

if your contact details or those

of your next of kin change.

To ask about our sheltered

housing scheme visits, please

call us on 0300 123 6000.
